- Submit an expression of interest via email or telephone call, to organise a meeting and/or site visit.
- Meet with our Empty Business Property Officer to discuss your application.
- If eligible and ready, you submit a fully-completed application form with the required supporting documents.
- If approved, you will be issued with an offer letter confirming the items that can be supported by the grant and the maximum value of the grant awarded to you.
- After you have accepted your offer of grant, you can procure your approved costs then claim your grant by submitting a claim form with proof of expenditure for each item (invoices and bank statement showing payment).
Empty Business Property Officer
The Empty Business Property officer will provide the following support to local businesses and our communities.
- Act as a single point of contact between the council and public, private and third sector organisations
- Provide a business property match-making service to help owners and potential tenants/occupants.
- Administer the Empty Business Property Grant Scheme to provide funding support for the delivery of approved projects brought forward by public, private or third sector.
- Deliver a place-based approach, which supports unlocking of investment across ÄÛ²ÝÓ°Ôº that maximises a positive impact on the economy.

Timescales
Applications to the grant scheme will be considered on a rolling basis until the funding has been fully allocated and spent by 31st March 2026. This means that whilst the fund is open there is no deadline for applications but successful projects must be completed and claimed before 31st March 2026.
