Getting empty business properties back into use

At a meeting of the council’s Environment, Development and Infrastructure committee, councillors agreed to introduce the new grant scheme to support owners and tenants of empty business properties to return their properties to productive use.

Jolly Rancher products recalled by FSS

ÄÛ²ÝÓ°Ôº Council, on behalf of Food Standards Scotland (FSS), is making local shops aware that they may have received and are selling Jolly Rancher confectionery products manufactured by ‘The Hershey Company,’ in Canada, some of which contain mineral oil.

Staff, children and young people from every school across ÄÛ²ÝÓ°Ôº have worked hard to put children’s rights at the heart of school life, where children feel respected and their talents nurtured. The hard work has now paid off with all schools achieving Gold, Silver or Bronze UNICEF Rights Respecting Awards.

Next steps approved for Tobermory Campus

ÄÛ²ÝÓ°Ôº Councillors today agreed a statutory education consultation, as part of proposals to relocate the existing 2-18 campus to a new location to the southern edge of Tobermory next to the A848 (Tobermory South).

ÄÛ²ÝÓ°Ôº Council’s housing services team has been crowned the winner of the 2025 Innovation Award at this year’s Empty Homes Network Awards (EHN) and has been highly commended in four other categories.
